Here Comes the Bride with a very long Veil !

Here comes the bride...........

They say it’s a day you should never forget – and that’s certainly the case
for Italian bride Elena De Angelis and the village of Casal di Princice.
She has broken the world record for the longest wedding dress by arriving to the church with a mammoth, 3km long veil.

With a veil of 2 miles long, it is around 28 times the length of Manchester United's Old Trafford pitch,  dozens of seamstresses took several months to create it.
Elena Married in Italy, with scores of helpers needed to help keep the veil off the ground.
She was driven to the church in a cream open-top classic car with her veil stretching
down the street behind.

So what do you think? how many bridesmaids would you need to help you out with that on the day?

Stunning or total madness?

Autumn Wedding Inspiration

With the nights and autumn drawing in I thought it would be a perfect time to look for some ideas that  can be incorporated into weddings. Its the perfect opportunity to look at those rustic colours such as forest greens, browns and oranges.

With halloween also around the corner here are some fun ideas for your special day

Pumpkins are great, you can be creative and personalise them

I really love this idea for place settings

What about toffee or covered apples as favours for your guests?

White Rose Weddings Loves ...... Jesus Del Pozo Wedding Gowns

I stumbled on some photographs of these beautiful gowns and was sad to see that the designer died of lung disease on 13th August.

Jesus del Pozo, was one of Spain's most influential fashion designers.
Del Pozo, was always one of the most prominent figures at Madrid's Pasarela Cibeles annual fashion week, was, according to Modesto Lomba, the chairman of the Spanish Fashion Designers' Association, "A man of character.

It is very sad that the world has lost such a talented designer.

Ship Ahoy! .......Nautical Inspiration

Maybe you are getting married on distant shores, a beach, overlooking a marina or harbour or even on board a beautiful yacht or boat.

Having close family who serve in both the Navy & Royal Fleet Auxillary i knew it wouldnt be long before i looked at inspiration of a Nautical Nature.

So i have put together a few ideas and handy tips below......... enjoy!

You could go with the Obvious Choice of Navy & White, this looks clean & elegant,  Silver is also a great colour to compliment your theme

Or you could add a third splash of colour how about ....

Red

Yellow or Gold

If you dont fancy Navy as your main colour, what about a summer breeze Nautical Theme, i think this would be a beautiful combination for a beach or destination wedding

i love the way this bride has used a Royal Blue as accents for her wedding.

If you are having a destination wedding, dont forget to think practical as well as style, make sure your dress is made from a material that will travel well.

If you are getting married on board, then a shrug is a good idea, to keep those chilly winds away.

Beautiful cakes designed using shells for decorations

and simple but effective table centres

what about favours?

I instantly fell in love with these "messages in a bottle"

and these rather cute starfish candle holders

These little origami boats are fab

and these little boats can double up not only as place card holders but as favours too as a photo holder.

For three weddings i have used pebbles or large cobbles, hand painted with guests names on, these doubled up as place settings and favours for them to take home.
If your feeling creative why not paint your own, but if you have a large wedding party this can be very time consuming.

Another great idea is to take some nice photos of your beautiful location and have them made into magnets, guests cant take these home as a reminder of your perfect day.
